On 26th December 2025 in Karachi, Pakistan, a landmark moment for diplomacy and international friendship unfolded as the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova was officially inaugurated, marking a milestone in the bilateral relationship between Moldova and Pakistan.
The prestigious ceremony was led by Mr. Syed Kashif Ali, recently appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Karachi, who welcomed the distinguished guests and attendees. The event was graced by Mr. Irfan Soomro, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Pakistan serving as the Chief Guest and was attended by special guests Mr. Tudor Ulianovschi, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, and Mr. Mykola Skrypkovskyi, Honorary Consul Republic of Moldova to Ukraine. The gathering brought together Consuls General and Honorary Consuls from various countries, alongside prominent business leaders and respected members of society. The presentation of official badges and commemorative shields highlighted the ceremonial and diplomatic importance of the event.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Syed Kashif Ali articulated his vision for strengthening bilateral relations between Moldova and Pakistan. He emphasized that the Honorary Consulate in Karachi would serve as a platform to promote diplomatic, trade, and cultural cooperation, facilitating initiatives and partnerships that further consolidate ties between the two nations.
The establishment of the Honorary Consulate reflects a shared commitment to collaboration and mutual development, opening new avenues for partnership, cultural exchange, and educational initiatives, through student exchange programs between the Republic of Moldova and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
